Angling Trades Association

CREDIT CONTROL &
CREDIT INFORMATION REPORTS

Information on the credit worthiness of customers and potential customers
is essential to an effective credit control system.

The Angling Trades Association Ltd operates a highly successful scheme which is
provided FREE OF CHARGE to all general and press members that have been
trading for a minimum of 12 months within the UK.

  1.

The scheme is operated by The Federation of Sports & Play Associations.

  1.

At intervals of one month, participating members forward to FSPA a detailed list of 90 day debts (60 days overdue) in alphabetical order, indicating whether legal action has been started.  (This can, if desired, take the form of a computer print-out).  These lists are requested within 15 days of the end of the relevant month.

  1.

FSPA coordinates these debtor schedules into one consolidated listing which provides the names and addresses of debtors and total of debt reported by participant (by code letter).  In addition, the list indicates debtors who are the subject of legal action and debtors for whom proforma is recommended.

  1.

The consolidated list is circulated only to contributing companies.

  1.

Meetings of credit controllers from the contributing companies are held at FSPA offices, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire at regular intervals.  These meetings are intended to be informal, friendly, open and informative and members’ presence is essential to maximise the exchange of information.
