Match angler and former DJ Andy Charlton has swapped his record collection for rods and reels by joining Hardy & Greys. Andy, who has enjoyed a successful career in the music industry, will now be working with the Alnwick tackle firm on developing its coarse fishing range. Although his most recent job was running his own management rights company, he is no stranger to the fishing trade as his father owned four tackle shops in the northwest and he used Hardy gear when he first started fly fishing, aged six. Andy, who will combine his fishing experience with his business skills, said: Individual tastes and lifestyle choices can change as we grow older and it really was time for me to leave the music industry and get a real job! There has only ever been one manufacturer I have wanted to work for, having used Hardy & Greys tackle for many years. To join the company is, in itself, a dream come true but to arrive as the development of coarse products is continuing to gather speed is a mouth watering prospect for me! I hope to be a part of the team for decades to come. Andy will work closely with Alan Yates, Dave Coster and Nigel Williams to develop a range of coarse products to suit the UK and European marketplace.
